Shipping Cost Calculator Canada
Rough planning estimate for parcels shipped within Canada
What the estimate models
The model combines package weight, a simplified Canadian domestic zone, and the selected service level. It supports early budgeting when complete origin and destination details are not yet available.
Use the calculator step by step
- Enter weight in kilograms.
- Select a distance or remote zone.
- Select Regular Parcel, Xpresspost, or Priority.
- Calculate the illustrative CAD value.
Weight is not the only price driver
Carriers can use dimensional weight. A large light parcel may therefore be billed like a heavier parcel. Measure length, width, and height before requesting a real rate.
From planning value to quote
Internal 2026 planning model: a fixed base plus per-kg cost by simplified zone and service, benchmarked to the Canada Post consumer guide. It is not a Canada Post tariff or quote and does not use postal-code zones, dimensions, surcharges, or tax.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which Canadian services are represented?
The scenarios use Regular Parcel, Xpresspost, and Priority terminology as service-level planning categories, not live carrier products.
What does the shipping zone mean?
The zone is a simplified distance and remoteness band. It is not derived from postal codes.
Does package size affect the estimate?
Not in this model. Actual carriers can use dimensional weight and size limits, so a large light parcel may cost more.
Are taxes and surcharges included?
No. Fuel, residential, oversize, remote-area, signature, insurance, and tax charges can change a quote.
Is this a Canada Post quote?
No. Use a carrier's official rate tool with origin, destination, dimensions, and account details for a quote.
Which rate date is used?
The calculator resolves the centrally maintained Canadian planning model dated January 1, 2026.
